I want to say something. As we know initially the sphere is neutral but when a negative charged rod is placed near the left side of the sphere, the left side become positively charged due to the fact that unlike charges attract each other. And the right side become negatively charged so as to maintain electrical neutrality.

OK now here comes the role of grounding. First of all I wanna tell you that there is a repulsive force between the negative charged rod and the negative charged electrons on the right side of the sphere.

When we connect the wire on the right side of the sphere they have a pat

When two things are connected via a rod (or any conductor), their electric potentials becomes equal. Now the potential of earth is, for all practical purposes, zero. Hence, the potential on the sphere have to be zero. Now, the sphere is positively charged which means it is electron deficient. To attain equal potential, electrons (negative charges) flow from earth to the sphere to make its potential zero (equal to that of the earth).

They don’t buddy. The -ve charge on the sphere is not bound and thus can move. When the sphere is connected to ground the - ve charges move to the earth and the sphere is left with +ve charge.

I guess you are doing you’re +2.I don’t know if it is a troll question or not,but either ways I suggest you to brush up on basics.
